What Makes Me, Me
Michal Abramoff
JTCentral
In describing ourselves we use a lot of titles –
boy/girl, American, high school student, etc.
While learning the basics of psychology we
can start exploring our different titles, learn
about what creates identity, how do we form
our own identity and ask – where does the
Jewish fit in?
Where’s Waldo?: Jewish Values in
Everyday Scenarios
Rabbi Yitzhok Adler
JTCentral
Don’t Jews do “the right” thing? Or, is there
something deeper to the everyday niceties
that we do? In this class, you will discover
how in an everyday scenario, Jewish values
are found and frame out how we are supposed
to act.
My Body is My Temple
Ilana Bernstein
JTCentral
Judaism teaches that we have an obligation to
maintain our health and to avoid potential
hazards to it. In this class we will blend the
Jewish approach to health and fitness with our
own recreational work activity.
What’s on your Jewish Bucket List?
Jo Bruce
JTCentral
Joining with teen groups from throughout the
country, this class will explore topics from
philanthropy to interpersonal relationships as
part of the Ignite Hartford campaign. The

meaningful to you by creating your own
Jewish bucket list.
Jews Line is it Anyway
Marcus Fink
JTCentral, JTAwakening
For years, actors and comedians have used
improv as a tool—to prepare for shows, create
characters, and flesh out storylines in a process
known as “yesanding.” This class will put a
Jewish twist on improv and drama activities.
The MTV Challenge: Media and Torah Values
Marcus Fink
JTCentral, JTAwakening
Music videos, sitcoms and dramas, TV
commercials, and Internet sites often are what
shape our views of relationships, honesty, love,
language. The images can be troubling and
vulgar as well as humorous and entertaining.
Discover how to look at these images through
Jewish eyes and see what lessons they may hold
for us.
Rock n' Roll Judaism
Eric Golberg
JTCentral, JTAwakening
What can Jay Z possibly teach us about
Judaism?! Take this class to find out! We will be
listening to contemporary music both Jewish
and not of all different genres of music to
examine how these musical samples help shape
who we are as Jews.
Israeli Film
Eric Golberg
JTCentral, JTAwakening
No need to fly to Israel to get a glimpse of Israeli
society. This course will expose us to Israeli
culture, history and controversies through Israeli
films. We will laugh at the comedic social satire
Sallah Shabati that depicts the chaos of Israeli
immigration and will grapple with the political
tension between the Israeli army and religious
nationalists in the thriller Time of Favor. No
Hebrew needed to enjoy these great films.
