A College and Career Journey
CAN’T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT
THE LITTLE LIGHT HOUSE
Clarey’s journey with the Little Light House began
in 2011 while she attended University of Tulsa as
a speech-language pathology student. Eager to
gain more knowledge and hands-on experience for
her future career, she decided to become a weekly
volunteer in Green Class through our College and
Career program.
Clarey instantly fell in love with the kiddos and staff.
“I was amazed by the contagious JOY that took place
inside of the Little Light House doors,” she says. For
the next four years, Clarey continued to volunteer in
the classroom even through graduate school.
After graduation, Clarey knew she wanted to work
at the Little Light House, but there were no open
positions at the time. A few years later when a
Speech Language Pathology opening was announced,
she knew she could not pass up the opportunity.
“Although I was already happy with my current job,
I knew in my heart I needed to apply,” she says. The
rest is history.
“The Lord has blessed me with the best job in the
world! I wake up every day knowing that I get to
hug, love on, and be filled with joy. I work with an
incredible team of teachers and therapists who teach
me, guide me and support me daily.
At the Little Light House, I have learned that God has
a specific, perfect plan for my life. This journey has
opened my eyes to patience, trust, and embracing
change in Him. Every good story involves a journey,
and I can’t wait to see how mine continues to evolve.”
