A poet's thoughts

Lies

By Charles Martin Castle IV

How many lies have I told?

What if you wrote them all down?

Would they stack up and tumble down?

What about things I was too afraid to say?

Do those thoughts unshared count as a lie?

What about the secrets I promised to keep?

What about the resolutions I never kept?

What about the money not saved that I spent?

What about the plans I never wanted anyways?

Or the keep in touches I promised away?
