173rd Founder’ s Day
SJI commemorated our 173rd Founder’ s Day on 30 April 2025 in honour of St John Baptist de La Salle. The celebration brought the entire school community together in a spirit of thanksgiving, unity and reflection. It was a cherished annual moment to affirm our Lasallian identity, celebrate the achievements of Josephians and renew our commitment to the mission and values that continue to shape the heart of SJI.
We were privileged to welcome Prof Ooi Eng Eong, Class of 1984 and Professor of Emerging Infectious Diseases at Duke-NUS Medical School, as our Guestof-Honour. A distinguished alumnus, Prof Ooi shared inspiring insights in his address and later expressed heartfelt thanks for the privilege of returning to SJI in this role. He shared that he was still over the moon with the entire experience, a warm affirmation of the SJI spirit and hospitality.
The day began with the celebration of Mass led by the Chaplaincy team with the support of teacher and student communion ministers.
