SJIOBA Sportsman of the Year
Zachary Sng embodies the true spirit of a student-athlete: disciplined, resilient and committed to excellence in both sport and character. Throughout his years at SJI, he has grown as a leader while achieving outstanding success in tennis at national and international levels.
A passionate competitor, Zachary led SJI to a historic victory at the 2025 National School Games Tennis Championships, securing the school’ s first national title in 34 years. He was named Singapore Schools Sports Council Sportsboy of the Year( Tennis) in both 2024 and 2025. Internationally, he represented Singapore at the Davis Cup Junior Tournament and the World Junior Team Competition and made history by reaching the semi-finals of the ITF Asian Championships; the highest-ever finish by a Singaporean at that level.
Zachary also performed strongly on the ITF Junior Tour, winning a doubles title in Sri Lanka and reaching later stages in tournaments across Asia. Off the court, he is known for his humility, empathy and leadership as Vice-Captain of the SJI Tennis Team. His ability to balance sport and academics reflects exceptional discipline.
For his achievements and character, Zachary is honoured as the SJIOBA Sportsman of the Year.
