Max Andre Yang Haoquan( FN402)
Lasallian Distinguished Service Award
Max Andre Yang Haoquan is a Josephian who has left a lasting impact on the SJI community through his humility, compassion and integrity. A natural yet humble leader, Max is known for his quiet strength, inclusivity and sincere care for others. His form tutors describe him as a young man of remarkable character, who uplifts those around him and leads with honesty and heart.
Max played a key role in organising the Year 1 Orientation Camp, creating a warm welcome for new students. As the Values-in-Action Leader of the Basketball team, he initiated a bonding camp and organised a farewell for graduating players. He also served as Class Vice-Chairman and Peer Support Leader, supporting his peers with calm leadership.
Beyond school, Max volunteered with Heartware Network, helping seniors use technology and mentored primary students in public speaking through the Speech Buddy programme. He helped plan the Lenten donation drive, living out his faith through service.
Respected for his dedication, kindness and team-first mindset, Max inspires through action. His selfless contributions and strong character make him a true Man for Others and a worthy recipient of the Lasallian Distinguished Service Award.
Miguel Phua Hong Han( MN403)
Lasallian Distinguished Service Award
Miguel Phua is an inspiring student whose intellectual curiosity, leadership and compassion have left a lasting impact on the SJI community. Motivated and articulate, he combines academic excellence with a deep commitment to service and the arts. His passion for History and Higher Chinese sharpened his critical thinking and his second-place cohort achievement in Higher Chinese in 2024 reflects both linguistic skill and cultural awareness. Through the Moot Parliament Programme, he engaged maturely with national issues, demonstrating confidence and insight.
Miguel’ s leadership is inclusive and visionary. As a Peer Support Leader, Prefectorial Executive Committee member and Student-in-Charge of the Year 1 Orientation Camp, he helped foster community and brotherhood. As President and Student Conductor of the Vocal Ensemble, he led the group to Distinction at the 2023 and 2025 Singapore Youth Festival and initiated a concert with CHIJ Katong Convent to extend their reach.
A passionate musician, Miguel also performed with the Singapore Lyric Opera Youth Chorus and earned four bronze awards at the National Text Recital Competition. In service, he co-founded the PeaCrab Project for paediatric cancer awareness and led VIVA Fiesta: Cosmos’ 25, raising support for the VIVA Foundation.
Miguel’ s dedication, creativity and compassion make him a deserving recipient of the Lasallian Distinguished Service Award.
