TL Camp 2024
A highlight of the year was the annual Indian Cultural Society ( ICS ) overnight camp in May , which provided students with extensive cultural exposure through engaging activities such as traditional games , trivia , and workshops on Indian instruments . The camp also featured an Amazing Race and film screenings , offering a wellrounded experience of Indian culture .
The ICS EXCO members played a key role in planning these activities , including cultural presentations that fostered a deeper understanding of the Tamil language . Students were also encouraged to conduct research and create presentations during ICS sessions , further broadening their appreciation of Tamil language and culture .
through specialised activities : Year 1 students learned the traditional Indian martial art Silambattam , Year 2 students participated in a Tamil drama workshop , and Year 3 students honed their Tamil interview skills .
A group of Year 4 students from ICS also represented the school in Sorkalam 2024 , a Tamil debate competition . After attending workshops and receiving guidance from teachers , they successfully clinched first place , demonstrating their mastery of effective argumentation and debate techniques .
Additionally , ICS members from all levels took part in various Tamil competitions , such as Avaiyar Vizha 2024 , My Journey as a Reporter , and Kamban Vizha 2024 . With determination and support from teachers and competition ICs , many students won prizes in their respective categories , further showcasing the talent and dedication of the ICS members .
