In addition to kayaking , all Year 2 senior cadets participated in the Introduction to Fire Movement course , where they learned essential skills , such as how to handle their weapons , move tactically , shoot , and work in pairs to take up firing positions effectively .
For the Year 3 cadet leaders , their training extended beyond modern techniques , as they were introduced to historical warfare . Guided by experts from the Bastion Historical European Martial Arts School , the cadets learned footwork , medieval swordplay , and ancient combat strategies , providing them with a unique perspective on military tactics .

Amid the wide range of military-related activities , the SJI NCC Land unit also demonstrated their discipline by performing in a sharp formation for the Anniversary Parade at the SJI Founder ’ s Hall . Additionally , the cadets showcased their competitive spirit by participating in the Laser Run and organizing district games for the HQ NCC Sports Championship competition . |
