The Signum Fidei ( SF ) Programme is an initiative for Year 3 and 4 Integrated Programme ( IP ) students that employs the Design Thinking framework to solve real-world problems . Students are empowered to think differently , solve problems , and create innovative outcomes — showcasing adaptive and inventive thinking in action to develop sustainable and innovative solutions .
Year 3 students were challenged to envision a better future for the world . Throughout the design challenges , students were encouraged to imagine , explore new alternatives , and bring ideas that previously didn ’ t exist . The students also delved into contemporary issues such as sustainability and inclusivity , uncovering root causes and developing solutions that are centred on the human experience . By contributing to and positively impacting the lives of others , students not only honed their problem-solving skills but also cultivate civic literacy , becoming more socially conscious and responsible citizens .

Year 4 students took a more independent journey , where students initiated contact with organisations such as NParks , KK Women ’ s and Children ’ s Hospital , and Sentosa Development Corporation . They worked over six months , applying their design thinking skills to propose solutions . Examples of their projects include mobile games for Sentosa to increase user engagement and educational gacha machines to raise awareness about Singapore ’ s flora and fauna . The programme concluded with students pitching their solutions to these organisations .
A standout feature of the SF Programme is how it pushes students out of their comfort zones , encouraging them to approach problems from new angles . From brainstorming ambitious ideas to refining prototypes , students learn the importance of openmindedness
and collaboration . The programme culminates in the Special Programme Exhibition . Through the programme , students develop valuable skills such as innovation , teamwork , time management , and effective communication with external organisations . These skills go beyond theoretical learning , equipping students to navigate real-world challenges with creativity and critical thinking .
The Signum Fidei Programme has been an enriching and fulfilling experience for students , offering them a deeper sense of camaraderie and preparing them for future challenges with enhanced creativity and problem-solving abilities .
