The Coding & Technology CAS has made remarkable strides , fostering the expertise of its members across diverse disciplines and offering a platform for deep , selfmotivated learning .
Our weekly sessions , complemented with newly established interest groups , have enabled a T-shaped learning approach , encouraging both breadth and depth in members ’ chosen fields . This year alone , we ’ ve delved into an impressive array of topics , including machine learning and AI , website development , game development , data science , and 3D design . members to create a broader positive impact within the community .
The Coding & Technology CAS has had a transformative impact on its members , providing them with the tools and experiences needed to excel in the ever-evolving world of technology , while also using their skills to benefit the community at large .
2024-2025 Executive Committee
Our mission is to equip members with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute meaningfully through technology , preparing them to be future-ready . For example , the Mahalo Interactive Map project challenged members to develop an interactive map for the school ’ s Mahalo Carnival . Additionally , our members developed and continue to maintain the IB Open House Website , providing a digital platform for the community to explore SJI . The 2023-2024 EXCO also organised a Zotero workshop , attended by over 200 SJI students , to familiarise them with using Zotero for efficient bibliography management .
Many of our members have also participated in competitions across various domains , such as programming , cybersecurity , and machine learning . Notably , our team “ whysji ” emerged as champions at DSTA Brainhack 2023 , winning Best MVP and 2nd Best Design in the CODE _ EXP event , where they developed a React Native mobile application that leverages AI to connect students and counselors .
These projects and competitions have served as a springboard for interdisciplinary work , enabling our
