A disciplined and conscientious student who is tenacious in his quest for knowledge , Jayden possesses a strong sense of personal and professional ethics . He demonstrates resilience and composure in changing situations , inspiring confidence as he leads his peers . He displays sensitivity and empathy towards his peers , endearing himself to them . His outgoing and friendly disposition makes it easy for him to establish good rapport with others . An effective and confident communicator , Jayden is adept at resolving conflicts and disagreements through open and respectful dialogues .
With an inquiring mind , Jayden strives to seek knowledge beyond the classroom and delve into a deeper understanding of concepts . He is also an independent learner who fervently pursues new knowledge and is unafraid of seeking clarification . Embodying the spirit of being a Man for Others , Jayden mentored and tutored his peers to promote academic success and personal development through the 2023 Peer Tutoring programme .
As the Unit Sergeant Major of NCC ( Air ), Jayden displayed exemplary leadership skills in leading the company , clinching the Distinction Award in the Unit Recognition and 2nd Position in the NCC Air Competition 2022 . Jayden and his teammates also represented the school in the NCC Sports Championships in 2022 , clinching the 1st position . His dedication and leadership stints in NCC ( Air ) have been recognised through his receipts of the Proficiency Badge ( Silver Wing ) in 2021 and Proficiency Badge ( Gold Wing ) in 2022 . Entrusted with the responsibility of running the CCA , Jayden drafted the work plan and ensured that all CCA training sessions ran smoothly . He was also thorough in considering multiple perspectives and outcomes to ensure the safety and well-being of the camp participants .
During his stint as the Head of Outreach in the Prefectorial Board from 2022 to 2023 , Jayden spearheaded initiatives that reached out to the school and the wider community . As one of the key drivers planning the Year 4 Values- In-Action ( VIA ) initiative in 2023 , he collaborated with the People ’ s Association to have the cohort volunteer at designated community centres to facilitate the distribution of Community Development Council ( CDC ) vouchers .
In the Prefectorial Board , Ms Wong Kah Yan fondly shares , “ In our many interactions over the two years , Jayden ’ s pursuit of excellence and sense of humility were outstanding . I recall the meticulousness and attention that he dedicated to creating the briefing slides to address the Year 3 cohort in 2022 . Additionally , he provided timely updates for the teachers to be in the loop on what was happening at each community centre over the six days in January 2023 .”
Jayden tapped on his meticulous planning and coordination skills to manage the logistics and manpower distribution across the community centres in Singapore . Jayden was also part of the organising committee to launch SJI ’ s inaugural Movie Night in 2023 , which aimed to draw SJI students together and foster stronger camaraderie among the school ’ s population .
These undertakings have exhibited Jayden ’ s strong convictions to help others and make a positive impact on the school and community . His scholastic inclination , drive for excellence , and high ethical principles distinguish him as a stellar recipient of the Lasallian Distinguished Service Award .
