Jane Ee Zi Ying ( LE609 )
Jane Ee Zi Ying was a Student Council member in her IB years , and planned for events which display the school culture and bond students together . Another crucial part of being a Student Councillor to Jane was having the ability to bridge the school administration and study body and this allowed her to sound out ideas for making positive changes at the school . One of Jane ’ s proudest moments in Student Council was working on a new pair of girl ’ s shorts for the SJI girls because there was feedback that the shorts are not comfortable . Her group decided to change the material , the cutting and made other changes they thought were important and she felt accomplished knowing they had made an impact on the future batches .
how mischievous the children are . During her involvement with Silver Friends , Jane worked with the vulnerable elderly in her community . Volunteering at the eldercare centre was meaningful for Jane as she learned how to engage them with stimulating activities and got to hear their interesting life stories . In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the school community and exemplary behavior , Jane was awarded the Lasallian Distinguished Service Award in 2020 .
Jane is realistic but still idealistic and she is determined to make the world a better place . Her enthusiasm , openmindedness and sincerity paired with her eagerness to learn will make her a great leader and contributor to society .
As a member of Lasallian Youth , Jane had the opportunity to mentor underprivileged kids who may come from disadvantaged family backgrounds . During the Lasallian Day Out ( LDO ) the children were brought out each school holiday to have a day of fun and Jane was a facilitator for this event . She befriended the participants and felt more like a big sister to them than a volunteer . She has learned how to be more patient with those around her regardless of
