“ Satisfaction lies in the effort , not the attainment .” - Mahatma Gandhi .
Colin is a dependable and diligent student leader . He is exemplary in his conduct and is able to influence his peers in a positive manner though sheer patience , guidance and empathy . His willingness to work with others despite knowing the challenges is what sets him apart from many student leaders . It is difficult to lead but to lead and grow others is a special trait that he possesses .
Mr Joseph Edison , is Form Tutor , has this to say , “ Colin was approached to help assist a weaker student in Year 3 . He never said no but even went the extra mile of keeping watch on the student . Even though the student had difficulty catching up , Colin had nothing but patience to care and look out for him . He even updated his Form Tutors about his progress when that was not required . He never fails to spread positive energy . Humility is really his guiding principle .”
Ms Ivy Or , his Geography Tutor , includes , “ Colin has a strong sense of responsibility and perseverance and can be relied on to complete assigned tasks to the best of his ability . He takes pride in completing all his work punctually and never hesitates to clarify his doubts with teachers . His humility and willingness to improve make him a pleasure to teach . In the recent geography coursework , he managed his time very well and proved to be a very reliable friend who took the extra time and effort to overcome any challenges the pair faced . Possessing a selfless personality , he often puts the well-being of others before his own as he works behind the scenes to assist his friends and classmates .”
Ms Wong Kah Yan , his Prefectorial Board mentor , has this to share , “ Colin is like a ray of sunshine , with his cheery smile and infinite capacity to remain optimistic during tough times . During the Orientation camp , Colin and his team were challenged to make the visit to the Singapore Art Museum experience an unforgettable and meaningful one for the Year 1 boys . He and the SAM team worked tirelessly through the night to get the programme ready . Despite the lack of sleep , he ( and the rest of his team ) stayed upbeat and enthusiastic throughout , as they went about executing the programme at Bras Basah without a word of complaint .”
