This year , Vocapella has been busy performing various acapella versions of songs for many school-based events . The year kicked off with our participation in SJI ’ s celebrations , singing Ed Sheeren ’ s “ Photograph ” and “ Perfect ”. As our maiden performance in front of the whole school , we were a bundle of nerves but managed to keep everything under control as we also had the help of the Year 6 seniors . We were also a regular feature at this year ’ s lunchtime concert , entertaining the crowd with oldies from The Beatle ’ s “ Imagine ” to an acapella rendition of Charlie Puth ’ s “ Attention ”. In May , we opened SJI ’ s Literary Night with a haunting rendition of The Beatles ’ “ Norwegian Wood ” sung by Isaiah , Jacen , Ryan , Max , Megan , Jia Xuan , Chloe and Celeste , with Max on guitar . Our first performance with a public audience was at SJI ’ s TEDX event . There , we performed a popular song “ A Million Dreams ” from the movie “ The Greatest Showman ” and this was an event that we prepared hard for . It has been an eventful year and one that has taught us much not just about music , but more importantly about ourselves . We have worked hard over the past year , under the guidance of our vocal trainer , Mr Chong , and our teacher in charge , Ms Mosbergen . We may not yet be Pentatonix , or even MICapella , but SJI ’ s Vocapella is one to watch out for in the following year to come !
