In 2018 , the SJI Debating Society saw many achievements that include winning the MOE-ACJC Debating Plate Finals Competition . The winners were Lo Zhu Ern Jonah , Negapatan Ranj Nicoli Macabidang , Kamal Ashraf Bin Kamil Jumat , Jay Parmar and Anna Nielsen . Jay Parmar and Anna Nielsen were also placed in the ‘ top-20 individual speakers list ’ in the 2018 MOE-ACJC Intercollegiate Debating Championship . In addition , SJI ’ s Shaun Alexander Wittberger was placed in the ‘ top-20 individual speakers list ’ in the 2018 Division I Singapore Secondary Schools Debating Championships . SJI was also placed 6th out of 50 teams in the 2018 Oldham Cup Competition and in August 2018 , the SJI Debating Society welcomed its first batch of under-14s members .
