National Cadet Corps ( Air )
In 2016 , SJI NCC Air received our 15th consecutive Gold Award in the Best Unit Competition 2015 , emerged Champion in the Air Competition and 3rd in the Orienteering Competition . Mr Mok Hsu Pan was re-appointed the Commanding Officer , while Ms Josephine Wee and Mr Firmin Wee joined the unit .
Igniting the Passion for Aviation Cadets of NCC Air are acquainted with activities centred on flight and exposed to the Republic of Singapore Air Force so as to spark their interest in aviation and have a broad understanding in the defence of our country .
In our Aeromodelling Programme , Sec 1 cadets are taught the principles of flight and they are exposed to the flight simulator . In Sec 2 , selected cadets attend the Silver Wing Course where they learn to identify planes and several cadets participate in the Spot-Landing Competition . The Gold Wings Course and Platinum Course for Secondary 3 cadets train them on the advanced principles of flight . 3 of these cadets subsequently compete in the Limbo Competition .
Values-Driven Education NCC Air emphasizes the inculcation of moral values , encapsulated in the NCC Core Values , to guide our cadets to be socially responsible people . We also stress values of citizenship to develop rugged and resilient citizens who can stay united to overcome crisis and adversities which we must expect to happen from time-to-time .
