Rugby
Our regular appearance in the the top four at the National Schools competitions over the years is reflective of the hard work and unwavering determination mixed in with some blood , sweat and tears shed during our arduous training sessions . However this year , the B Division were unable to reap the fruits of their labour , but carried on fighting with the true spirit of a Josephian . They achieved a hard-fought 6th placing , with the C Division attaining a commendable 5th placing as well .
SJI stepped up participation in the Rugby 7 ’ s scene . Both our Band C Division squads managed to reach the semi-final stage in the YOG Festival 7 ’ s , SCC 7 ’ s and Saint ’ s 7 . Our boys also participated in the inaugural SRU 7 ’ s Series played over six weekends . Our U14 ’ s achieved overall series 5th . The U16 ’ s managed to collected some silverware by appearing in the finals against St . Andrew ’ s Secondary School . It was a close contest and we were runners-ups in Round 1 . Overall the U16 boys found themselves on the podium again by scoring enough series points to be placed 3rd in the final ranking .
