SJI ‘ C ’ Division Team
Judo , meaning “ gentle way ”, is a form of martial art originating from Japan . The art of Judo focuses largely on concentration , discipline and techniques . The 50th National School Games Judo Championships 2016 was held in Hougang Secondary School , where we were faced with very stiff competition from other schools . After much trials and tribulations , our SJI Judokas , Ngiam Huang Jun Jovis ( FN302 ) and Goh Jun Wei ( LE202 ) had their hard work paid off and flew the Josephian flag high . Jovis Ngiam was bestowed with the Bronze medal in the ' B ' -Division Feather Weight Category ( -55Kg) and Jun Wei was awarded with the Gold medal in the ' C ' -division Heavy Weight Category ( - 86kg ).
The SJI Judo Team would like to thank our coaches , Mr Rocky Koh and Ms Ngo Yeeling for their patience and dedication towards the SJI Judo team . We would also like to thank our Principal , Viceprincipals , Teachers-In- Charge , Mrs Michelle Toh , Ms Therese Tan , Ms Kassandra Lim , Mrs Nevina Ho and Ms Winnie Yap for their continuous support and care . Finally , we would like to thank God for His love for our team and for blessing us with these medals and the Judo family in SJI .
