Secondary 4 Catholic Retreat

The St . Francis Xavier Major Seminary conducted our Secondary Four Catholic Retreat in late August 2015 . The retreat served three purposes for the graduating Josephians ; 1 . Enable the students to deepen their understanding of the life of St . John Baptist De La Salle
2 . Accompany the students in reflecting on their own life , based on their learning from the life of St . La Salle
3 . Provide an opportunity for the students to reflect on their “ next-steps ” in life as they continue their journey to the next level .

SJI ’ s Annual Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Mount Carmel

This annual pilgrimage to Mount Carmel on 16th July marks the Josephian ’ s unique relationship with the community of Carmelite Sisters . As a community , Josephians pray as well as offer services as a choir for the Eucharistic celebration held in the Carmelite Convent Chapel . The students are grateful to the Sisters for their prayers and to be given the opportunity to be part of this annual pilgrimage .
What the attendees have to say about the retreat :
Initially , I was hesitant about the camp , however , it turned out to be enjoyable and meaningful . This camp reminded me that I should trust in God in everything , and anything that I do , no matter what the situation . It has also allowed me to reconnect with myself , with my school community , and with God , in the midst of all the work and studying . I am truly thankful for this camp . Timothy Wong Eu-Jin , LE401
I have learned and gained so much from the Secondary 4 catholic retreat . The things that touched me the most were the service and men for others the teachers were throughout the whole camp , inspiring me to serve those around me too with humility and charity . Paul Neo Xin Ren , MN403
The camp for me was very fun and enriching . What made it special for me was that we were able to grow in faith together as one supportive community . I felt that there were moments during the camp where we all , in our own ways , experienced the presence of God in our lives . Maleriado Shem Limos , LE403
