The SJI Pipe Band performed in two significant competitions this year . In April , the band represented SJI at the All Schools Pipe Band Competition in Perth , Australia . It was an excellent opportunity for the boys to perform a selection of marches and meet up for the massed performance with other bands that arrived from different destinations in Australia and Malaysia . In June , the band once again emerged as Champions in the Juvenile Category at the annual Southeast Asian Pipe Band Championships organised in SJI . The success was a result of consistent practices and extra effort directed by the boys to prepare themselves to compete against other bands of a very high quality .
