Our Performance in Japan
Just Before Departing to Japan
costumes . It was an enriching experience as many of us never had this chance to appreciate music in a pitch dark environment .

Japan Trip The SJI Vocal Ensemble had the opportunity to travel to Tokyo , Japan from the 23rd to the 29th of November for a exchange programme with St Mary ’ s International . They performed two different pieces under the chorale direction of Mr Stenson , “ There Is Faint Music ” by Dan Forrest , “ Invictus ” by William Earnest , with their very own Jazz Ensemble lightening up the atmosphere with a beautiful piece . The Vocal Ensemble has spent many hours rehearsing for this exchange , and our hard work paid off when we were given positive feedback by Mr Stenson for our performance . We also had the honor to have a workshop with the famous Japanese composer Mr Ko Masushita . It was a very enlightening experience as we got to hear another interpretation of his own composition , “ Ave Maria ”. This trip was not just work but we also had the chance to visit many famous places in Tokyo , such as the Shinjuku Park , Meiji Shrine and many more . This rare opportunity allowed the Vocal Ensemble to bond and forge even greater friendships .
