2014 marked yet another happening season for the SJI Cross Country team . Led by Captain Glen Brian Palmer , the team braced six trainings a week to prepare themselves for the season ahead . Teammates became family as together they overcame any competition or obstacle that stood before them , eventually leading up to the final test : the National Inter-School Cross Country Championships .
In the National Inter-School Cross Country Championships , the runners gave it their best shot , eventually clinching the overall 3rd position in the ‘ B ’ Division Boys category and 5th position in the ‘ C ’ Division Boys category . ‘ B ’ Division team member Suhas Ramanan led the ‘ B ’ Division runners in a simple prayer to ready them for the upcoming race .
“ Dear God , please be with us as we race for our school . Lend us the strength and determination to run our best and never surrender to exhaustion . Allow us to bond as a team and grow as individuals regardless of the results we achieve ”
The prayer did indeed grant strength upon the members of the team with several boys attaining astounding results .
