Young Christian Students

In 2000 the Singapore Young Christian Studentsʼ Movement approached SJI to start a chapter and that marked the humble beginning of the Young Christian Students ( YCS ).
The Young Christian Students ( YCS ) encourages students to look at the world from the perspective of the poor , and to gain further insights into the Catholic faith through different meaningful activities . It also provides a platform for the student community to voice their views and opinions regarding their faith , the Church and the Bible .
In YCS , students meet new friends from other schools and together they try to deepen their faith and not be distracted by daily distractions that draw them away from God . This is done every meeting through three simple but essential steps : ‘ See , Judge , Act ’. Members can then better understand and be aware of what they should and should not do .
Additionally , YCS has aided students in cultivating a sense of justice for the discriminated , as well as strengthened members ’ faith .
