Every year , groups of Secondary Three students and a number of Secondary Fours go overseas as part of its student development programme . Formerly known as the Josephian International Experience Programme , now the International Education ( IE ) is designed to bring students out of the classroom and enable them to experience things that they would never be able to while in Singapore .

Students are given a choice of destinations from around the globe . The various IE trips are designed to develop essential qualities such as compassion , empathy and global mindedness . During the trips , Students are given the opportunity to participate in various
activities such as community service programmes , attending lessons at various schools there as well as having the opportunity to interact with the locals .
Some of the trips also involved the school working with other organizations , especially those service-learning trips that involved community service projects and visitations to schools and homes .
Daryl Low ( 302 ) who went on a trip to Johor , Malaysia summed up aptly , “ We can see things from different perspectives as the world is a place of many possibilities and thus is never stagnant and constant in terms of conditions and places .”
