Table Tennis
Since 1996 the Table Tennis Team started to perform well under the intensive training by our coach Mr Yao Mei Shen . The first time SJI Table Tennis made history was in 1996 when both the ʻBʼ and ʻCʼ Division made it to the top 4 positions in the South Zone Competition . In 2009 , the feat was repeated when the ʻCʼ Division clinched 2nd and the ʻBʼ Division 3rd in the National Inter-school Table Tennis Championships .
South Zone Inter-school Table Tennis Championships and National Inter-school Table Tennis Championships 2012 has been a bountiful one for the Table
Tennis Team . Despite facing increasingly tough opposition such as Raffles Institution , Catholic High and St Gabriel ’ s Secondary School , our ‘ B ’ and ‘ C ’ Division Teams emerged 2nd and 3rd respectively in the South Zone Competition . The ‘ B ’ Division emerged top 8 in the National Competition .
The intensive training by coach Mr Yao Mei Shen together with the support of the teachers in charge and the determination and resilience of the team have enabled it to achieve commendable results this year . The team has gained valuable experience from the competitions and will continue to work hard to fight for the top four positions in the National Inter-school Table Tennis Championships next year .
