Judo
Our current coach Mr Koh Eng Kian is an SJI alumni from the class of ' 72 . Mr Koh was 20 when he represented Singapore in the Montreal Olympics and was ranked 18th in the Games .

4 Sparring with a senior medals for both ‘ B ’ and ‘ C ’ Divisions , with Asai Taisei ( 108 ) clinching an additional individual bronze medal .
Through the fun but tough joint-training sessions with Catholic Junior College judokas and the seniors who returned to train with us , each judoka gained valuable experience . We learnt resilience and team spirit , and on this note we are deeply grateful to Tan Ser Yung ( 435 ), our senior who was injured in the national competition in 2010 who truly exemplifies willpower and the never-say-die spirit . His struggles , successes , positive outlook , letters of encouragement and especially his story is the epitome of our motivation .
None of these achievements would have been made possible without the help of our coaches , the seniors who came back even in the holidays to spar with us and also the teachers-in-charge . We thank God for keeping all judokas safe during the trainings and competition bouts , and we look forward to doing the school proud again !
