Athletics
The ‘ C ’ Division team garnered a total of 42 points and a 6th place finishing overall . Much credit goes to the ‘ C ’ Division ’ s rising young athletes . Keith Wong ( 205 ) earned a silver medal in Long Jump and a bronze medal in Triple Jump while Daniel Lim ( 212 ) clinched 3rd position in the Javelin event , rounding up the ‘ C ’ Division team ’ s medal tally for the season .
Amazing results were delivered right from the SPH Relay Championships all the way to the end of the season . The athletes are inspired by the seniors of the team and will aspire to follow in their footsteps to achieve greater heights next year .
Cross Country 2012 was yet another eventful year for the SJI Cross Country team . Macritchie reservoir , CCAB and the daunting slopes of Mount Faber Park became familiar haunts as the crossers , led by team Captain Julian Tang
( 431 ), rigorously trained for the season , unfazed by the challenges ahead . Through sheer hardwork and consistency , the ‘ B ’ Divison boys clinched an overall 5th position in the National Schools Cross Country Championships .
Barely a month later , the crossers joined their peers in the athletics team as the SJI flag flew high at the National Schools Track and Field Championships , where all our athletes secured a spot in the much anticipated finals of the middle distance events . With such splendid performances for the year , our athletes have once again concluded an electrifying season .
