Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation Donor Report 2018 JBHF Donor Report 2018 | Page 4

From the Hospital Dear friends, Joseph Brant Hospital has been supporting the Burlington area for more than 57 years. Since the doors first opened in 1961, our hospital has served this community and everyone’s personal health care journey at every turn. Thanks to your support, this past year we added a chapter to our history with the opening of our new seven-storey Michael Lee-Chin & Family Patient Tower. With the addition of the patient tower, we now have approximately 800,000 square feet of space designed with the patient experience at the heart of everything that we do. This state-of-the-art facility has 172 inpatient beds, a new home for our Emergency Department, and nine operating rooms that are almost double the size of those they replaced. We also have new and improved space for our ambulatory care clinics, cancer care clinic and diagnostic imaging unit. On behalf of everyone at JBH, I would like to thank you for your support of the redevelopment and expansion project. It has been a massive undertaking to transform healthcare in our community and with the incredible support of the entire community, we have truly made our vision for a new hospital a reality. Our journey for continuous improvement doesn’t stop with our new facility. We will continue to work hard to transform and grow our community hospital with the ultimate goal of becoming a recognized leading practice Community Teaching Hospital. And with your continued support, we will continue to inspire a culture of caring to support high quality, compassionate care and exemplary service, every time.
