Leaving a legacy
“Joseph Brant
Hospital is our
community hospital,
and we need to
support it.”

Leaving a legacy of care for
your community
Did you know that to date, more than $18 million has been
gifted to our Hospital by generous and thoughtful individuals
who have included Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation in
their wills?
The impact that these special donors have had on the care our
patients receive, every day, is truly remarkable. Estate gifts have
improved care in nearly every area of our hospital including the
Emergency Department, the Oncology Clinic, Surgical Services
and Diagnostic Imaging.
Their generosity leaves a legacy of care that will continue to
benefit our community for generations to come. Legacies like
that of Howard and Betty Geiss, who left their entire estate,
valued at approximately $4 Million to the Foundation.
Howard and Betty were long-standing donors to JBHF, making
their first gift in 1985. They continued to make annual gifts
ranging from $25 to $3,000 for close to 30 years, explaining
their giving as supporting local healthcare.
“Joseph Brant Hospital is our community hospital, and we
need to support it,” said Betty.
Howard passed away in 2006, and shortly after Betty’s death in
2016, the Foundation was made aware of their extraordinary
gift and established the Howard and Betty Geiss Endowment
Fund. Through this endowment, their principal gift is preserved
and invested, and the annual income generated will be used to
support the Hospital’s most critical needs.
The Foundation is pleased to recognize and celebrate donors
who have informed the Foundation that they have left a gift in
their will to support our Hospital through membership in the
Joseph Brant Society..
And like Howard and Betty, all of our Society members
will have a lasting impact on the quality of healthcare for
generations to come.
