pace exploration is very important for us because it challenges mankind’ s capability of achieving something big. When man stepped on the moon for the first time, humanity reached a huge mark. It was the beginning of a new era.
I think that space exploration is a positive thing because it lets us discover new“ worlds”, but I reckon we should, first of all, make our world better and guarantee our survival. With the money and resources spent on space exploration we could do other things like, for example, try to solve the problem of the world’ s hunger.
ROBOT & FRANK

“ Robot & Frank”( 2012, directed by Jake Schreier) was an incredible, emotional and thought-provoking film, where Frank, an old man who has Alzheimer, receives a robot from his son. The film describes the evolution of their relationship and the assault they did together.
In my opinion, it is a really complete film, with comedy, scientific fiction, drama and action.
To sum up, it is really good and I would recommend it to anyone. I laughed, I cried and it got me stuck to the screen the whole time.

PRÉMIO TRADUZIR, 2016

A atividade de tradução presencial, dirigida a alunos do 11.º e 12.º anos, realizada no âmbito do Concurso Promovido pela Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Prémio Traduzir 2016, decorreu no dia 17 de fevereiro de 2016, pelas 10h30, no Auditório da Escola Secundária Dr. Jorge Augusto Correia. Uma iniciativa coordenada pelo professor de Inglês e coordenador do Departamento de Línguas, Serafim Gonçalves, que nos manifestou o seu contentamento por este ano ter havido mais inscrições e em mais línguas.
Os 19 alunos( 11.º A1, B, C1 e C2; 12.º C1 e C2) inscritos em Inglês tiveram como tarefa a tradução de um excerto de William Boyd( 2005), Bamboo, com o título“ Claude Monet: Bathers at La Grenouillère”; aos dois alunos( 11.º A2 e 12.º C2) inscritos em Alemão coube um excerto de Jenny Erpenbeck( 2015), « Gehen, ging, gegangen », por fim, a aluna( 11.º C2) inscrita em Francês traduziu um excerto de Bernard Weber( 2015), « Le sixième sommeil ».
