Former Premier League
strikers attend 2016 Golf Break
NORFOLK, UK - FORMER Premier League
strikers John Hartson and Dean Ashton
helped John Henry Group raise close to
£1,000 for partner charity MAGPAS Helimedix,
the emergency medical charity.
Hartson, who played for Arsenal, West Ham and
Celtic amongst other clubs, breaking several
transfer records in the process and, Ashton,
former West Ham, Norwich and England forward,
were special guests at this year’s John Henry
Group Golf Break, a two day golfing residential.
More than 45 colleagues from John Henry Group
and their clients from a wide range of businesses across the telecoms and highways arenas
attended the event, which is held annually at
Barnham Broom in Norwich and is scored in
stableford (points) format.
Hartson and Ashton also joined in the action
on the course on day one, with Hartson also
the evening’s guest speaker, discussing how
he overcame multiple cancerous tumours and
battled for survival following on from his highly
successful football career.
He also shared some Premier League annecdotes of his time with some of the league’s top
clubs - particularly training with the Arsenal team
under then-boss Scottish Manager George Graham, who had signed him for a record transfer
fee in 1995.
The two-day golf break event also helped to raise
much-needed cash for MAGPAS Helimedix, a
chosen charity of John Henry Group, which deli
vers life-saving critcal care to casualties
across the East of
England either via
helicopter or rapid response vehicles. The
charity is known as a
leader in the development of trauma

and critical care in the event of an emergency
and has developed pioneering treatment techniques and training programmes.
“We were delighted with how well the 2016 John
Henry Group Golf Break was supported by both
our clients and our colleagues,” said company
director John Henry Jnr.
“This event is not only a relaxing couple of days
but a chance for us to say thanks to our clients
for their business over the past financial year and
we hope those attending enjoyed the company
of John Hartson and Dean Ashton throughout the
event.”
