RobCooper. UK 2017 The 5 P’ s Prior Preparation Prevents Poor Performance!

This acronym has been used by many people preparing for their interviews and presentations and remains to be accurate and true today.
If you prepare yourself well, this will make you a stronger candidate compared to the other applicants who may not have prepared in advance in applying for the role.
Good preparation and knowledge is power, however, it’ s not that simple.
You have to show motivation, a commitment and an interest in the role. It’ s not all about being‘ liked’ in the interview, it’ s a combination of things that your employer will be looking for:
Have you got the right skills and experience to do the job? Do you appear calm, confident and competent? Will you‘ fit in’ with the existing team dynamics?
What you don’ t want to happen is for your body language to let you down and to be telling the panel another story! For example, that you are not really bothered about getting the job and that you don’ t want the job anyway!
You need to promote yourself in a positive way, by using the right body language and persona to convince the panel that you are the strongest candidate and that you do have the skills, knowledge and the experience to perform the role.
