Preparing for your Interview
Being prepared for your job interview is one of the most important things you can
do to ensure that you are on the right road to success! With plenty of good
preparation comes confidence and this is what an employer looks for in a
successful candidate. The members of the panel want to employ the right person
for the job, and will appreciate your efforts more if you have taken the time to
research the role thoroughly. This demonstrates that you are serious about
applying for the position and are interested in working for them.
Good preparation, coupled with good communication skills will allow you to
present your evidence more positively and effectively to the panel.
Knowing your examples well, and being comfortable to talk about them, will help
you become more confident and relaxed. This will allow your evidence to sound
natural and flow more easily. This will keep the panel engaged and focused on
listening to you as you demonstrate your skills and suitability for the role.
Allow yourself plenty of time to plan and prepare for your interview in advance!
In most cases you will be given at least a week’s notice by the employer to prepare
your evidence and the material for your interview. It is important that you spend
your time wisely because you will have a lot of things to think about and do before
your interview date!
