RobCooper.UK 2017 Communicate effectively During the interview it is important that you remember to speak slowly and clearly for the panel to understand what you are saying. Don’t be afraid of pauses or silences as these can give you extra time to think, compose and present your evidence better. Ensure you don’t ramble on with non-essential evidence. If you feel yourself doing this, stop, breath and re-focus on the question. Speak with Confidence Speak loud and clearly, but use your normal speaking voice. Try to sound relaxed and not hesitant when you talk. The interview will go more smoothly if you know what you are talking about. Body Language  Be aware of your body language  Avoid fidgeting  Sit upright  Lean slightly forward in your chair  Nod your head where appropriate Show the panel that you are trustworthy by making eye contact with each one when you speak.
