P.D.Malaviya College, Rajkot 1.0 Introduction Internet in the academic world has gifted a wonderful method of learning that is e-learning. E-learning system being more technical has several parts and functions like content creation, Presentation (authoring) administration of content as well the learners and course management , management of learning environment and communication. For the successful e-teaching the learning principles should be in accordance with the content and method selected. In a pure virtual learning environment the learners have mostly total control of from where, when and how they acquire the desired knowledge. Therefore the learners have to be guided by the content, the tutors and the system to prevent that they are distracted by too many possibilities. They have always been integral to education and training. In contemporary world it is considered the domain of teachers. Some factors specifically concentrates on content development now as a more specialised activity, and often involve managerial concepts and team effort. E-learning is defined by various experts like:      1.1 Matt Comerchero introduces e-learning as a means of education that incorporates self-motivation, communication, efficiency, and technology. 1.2 Dan Hoffmaster relates the evolution from traditional face-to-face instruction to e-learning. 1.3 Kristy DelVecchio and Megan Loughney present some advantages and disadvantages of e-learning. 1.4 Cedrick Osavandi presents a case for using e-learning in the corporate world. 1.5 Ann Keiser Edler examines the uses of e-learning in the Pre-K-12 market and provides some recommendations for its success.
