Today , the word is prefixed with letter āeā indicating the world is changing to
electronic and going Digital , Education is not at all away from it. A new method of distant
learning (e-learning), a Virtual classroom system that enhances the interaction between
students and teachers. There are many Virtual classroom systems available in the market,
they have the features like features like interactive response, live streaming, and assignment
management. Many systems have virtual instructor and thus student can ask questions
immediately and get responses. The students learn effectively by interactive communication
and collaboration. This Virtual Classroom system introduces a new design for e-learning that
tries to increase the interaction between teacher and students, as if they were studying in real
classroom. Teacher can stream his/her lecture live, upload assignments, answer questions at
same time. On the other hand student can raise their hand (virtually) and ask questions. As
this virtual system is based on intranet, overheads of the internet are decreased considerably
The major objective of the virtual class is to provide an online learning experience to students.
Here are some of the advantages of Virtual classroom over traditional classroom model:
1.
Removal of geographical barriers (Anywhere learning)
In a virtual class the class is boundary less , the teacher can be at any corner of the
world and the student too can be at the other place geographically but internet
connection and the concept of communicating as a class in a virtual class room keeps
them virtually face to face.
2. Pace for the learner
Learner can be anywhere at his convenient place for learning simply the requirement
is to login to the class at the time of the session. Even sessions can be recorded for
further reference or to study it offline. If learners miss a traditional classroom-based
training session, they have very little opportunity to engage in the learning experience
that took place. A virtual classroom has a facility to record the session so learners or
teachers can replay it afterwards. Teachers too get an opportunity to review their own
or their colleagues performance.
3. Easy to organize and impart
Training can be organized more easily and quickly than traditional classroom-based
training. Classrooms and projectors do not need to be reserved, materials do not need
to be distributed. The sessions are easier to schedule or reschedule since attendees will
not be travelling to the venue of the session.
