o Students will follow the instructions of the supervising staff member without argument or disruption. o Students will stay in their assigned seat unless permitted to move.
• Eating During Detention o Students will eat their lunch quietly during detention. o No sharing of food or other districting behavior is permitted.
• Prohibited Activities o No phones o No talking, socializing, or engaging in off-task activities
• Duration and Dismissal o Students will stay for the entire designated period. o Students will leave the area quietly and in an orderly manner when dismissed.
• Respect for the Space o Students will keep the area clean and tidy and dispose of any trash responsibly.
In-School Suspension
Expectations
• Prepared for In-School Suspension o Report to the In-School Suspension room in the morning during homeroom and wait for the teacher. o Cell phones / smartwatches are to be handed in at the beginning of the day. o Come in ready to complete classwork.
• Respect and Courtesy o There is no talking in the In-School Suspension Room. o Follow directions the first time asked.
Procedures
Students will follow a detailed schedule throughout the day that will include the following:
• Students will be escorted to lockers, breakfast, lunch, and to hand-in work at the end of the day.
• Students will have scheduled bathroom and drink breaks( students are allowed to have a water bottle and students have one emergency bathroom break outside of the scheduled bathroom breaks).
• Morning and afternoon restorative reflections about their behavior.
• Graphic organizer to prioritize their assignments.
• If students receive three strikes in one day, they will serve the remainder of their suspension as an out-of-school suspension.
