Home a place where my heart resides

ණ Nafisa Ahmed KUMARSWAMY LAYOUT------------------------------------------ Home is a place where my yesteryears are buried and where my heart will reside always. It is very difficult to tear ourselves from hometown where our family has roots of several generations. 6 years back, I decided to move out to a place that I knew a little bit about. Buoyed up by the thrill of challenges that I was going to embrace very soon. After my 12th I planned to move Bangalore as it is one of the fastest growing cosmopolitan cities in Asia. It is a home to many top companies in India and offers plethora of job opportunities. After completing graduation, I planned to pursue MBA from Bangalore itself and then joined one of the largest FMCG Company. Over the year I grew up, met people from diverse culture, diverse thinkers, and adapting myself to the new place which floated my personality to the top in terms of mannerism, quality and opinion. But one thing always lingers though unspoken that I miss home indefinitely. As I become fully preoccupied with the daily routine, just realize the fact that life back home is going on without me. I miss my parents terribly every moment, my friends and my entire family. Occasions like Birthdays, weddings, holidays in short all the memorable gatherings I miss a lot which saddens me a lot. Apparently, I just realize that much has happened in my absence and so much has changed. Circumstances like visiting a grocery store to paying off electricity bills and searching a new house all makes us feel that home is where comfort resides and where our heart is store. Fundamentally these are the situations which have altered and refined me more. In reality excitement of being home will never fade. Joyous phase finally begins when my annual leave gets approve from my manager. Countdown begins when I start counting the number of days left to be at my home land. There are certain special things that I never miss out to do when I am there which begins by hogging my Mom’ s luscious recipes starting from appetizing Chicken Biryani, Bhoka Pitha, Narikolor Laru to Masor Tenga and the reason of gaining extra weight once I am home. I don’ t miss out driving by G. S. Road and Fancy Bazaar where I occasionally go for shopping at different stores and my all time favourite Pantaloons. Today I earned the fact that living in a new place is a beautiful learning experience, which has given me the gift of freedom, a new beginning with the curiosity to explore more. But every good things comes with a price and the price I am paying today is the fact I miss Assam every moment.
