Despite its small size, quaint St Mary’ s is a hive of activity( in Scilly terms anyway!). Spend some time in Hugh Town, enjoy a dip in the shallow waters of Porthcressa Beach and amble along the scenic coastal paths before finding an enticing café or pub to feast on some delicious local delights.
DAY 4 St Mary’ s / Tresco
St Mary’ s Boatmen’ s Association or Tresco Boat Services operate regular daily passenger boats between the islands, so head to the quay and buy your ticket from the kiosk before sitting back and enjoying the short journey. On arrival, make your own way to your hotel.

Whether you explore on foot, hire a bike or even a kayak for a unique perspective of the island, you’ ll find Tresco is a true sub-tropical gem. Bid farewell to the timeless charm of these gorgeous islands as you return by ferry to St Mary’ s for your onward journey to the mainland.

Stunning landscapes, a rich heritage and exciting water-based activities await you in St Mary’ s. We shouldn’ t forget its beautiful beaches either, whether you visit the town’ s trio of Porthcressa, Town Beach and Portmellon or, the more secluded Pelistry Bay. See historical landmarks like the 16th century Star Castle or step out on the picturesque coastal paths that weave around the island.
DAY 4 St Mary’ s / St Martin’ s
Make your way to the quay where chalkboards show the times of the various boat departures( subject to tides). You’ ll need to buy your ticket locally( from the quay kiosk) and can then look forward to a short hop across to St Martin’ s. Once there, make your way to your hotel.

DAY 5 St Martin’ s
A serene car-free paradise, St Martin’ s is the Scilly’ s northernmost inhabited island and famed for its powder-white beaches, turquoise waters and vibrant community. Must-visit spots include sweeping Par Beach, Great Bay and Lawrence’ s Bay. See also the iconic Daymark, which was built in 1683 and being the highest point of the island has panoramic views of the archipelago. Perhaps go snorkelling or hop on another boat in the hope of spying Atlantic grey seals. Having no doubt built up an appetite you’ ll be pleased to find a handful of eateries dishing up a wide range of delicious locally-sourced treats.
DAY 6 St Martin’ s / St Mary’ s / Mainland UK
All too soon, it’ s time to hop back across to St Mary’ s for your onward journey to the mainland.
