The majority of our featured islands are easily accessible by air, with departures available from a variety of regional airports, particularly for Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man. The table below shows which islands are accessible from each UK mainland airport.

In fact, there are flights from up to 25 regional airports operated by several carriers including British Airways, Aurigny, Jet2, easyJet, Loganair and Skybus. As the number of routes and departure points increase all the time it makes travel from your local airport extremely accessible and convenient.

Supplements may apply to fly from your chosen airport and we will always quote you the best price possible on the day. Some airlines automatically include a checked bag for the hold, whilst others include hand luggage with the option to pay for checked luggage, if you require it. Please ask for details. As a guide, we’ ve shown a price for 3 days car hire and which car type this is based on, however longer durations and alternative car sizes are also available, although there are limited numbers of larger and automatic vehicles, so you are advised to book early if you require these.

Minimum rental age

Jersey & Guernsey- 21 years of age for compact cars( Hyundai / Corsa) and 25 years for larger vehicles; Isle of Man- 23 years of age; Shetland- 23 years of age. In all destinations you must have held a full driving licence for at least 12 months. In Shetland, it is a minimum of two years if aged 21-22 years.

Maximum rental age

Jersey & Guernsey- 80 years( or 75 years for larger vehicles); Isle of Man- 80 years; Shetland- 75 years.

Fuel & insurance

It is important to note that car rental prices do not include fuel which is payable locally. Car hire prices do include Collision Damage Insurance which offers cover for accidents and damage, but an excess will be payable on any claim.

Excesses

Jersey & Guernsey- the excess is nil for all car types, offering you greater peace of mind; Isle of Man- excess is £ 1,250. If you wish to waiver the excess to zero you may opt to take an excess waiver insurance, which is £ 6 and payable locally; Shetland- £ 300 payable upon pick up. For Scottish tours terms and conditions may differ and will be advised at the time of booking.
