As for the external relations team, there is an SNS group. Their job was to post pictures and comments on SNS such as Instagram and Facebook. According to Mr. Rinki Maemoto, who takes pictures of JEMUN as a member of the SNS group, the purpose of posting is to raise the participants' motivation and to encourage other people who are not joining JEMUN to be interested in it. He hopes that people looking at the pictures on SNS will participate in JEMUN next year. They also posted pictures before the conference. They did a countdown on SNS showing the number of days until the conference. Also, they will contribute articles about JEMUN to the Kindai Newspaper to inform other students at the university about the event.

The Conference logistics team tried to do their best for preparing a special opening ceremony. According to Ms. Shiho Kusano, they faced trouble when they started to plan the opening ceremony.

At first, they could not gather enough volunteers because it costs money and most of them had other plans. Second, it was difficult to reserve the hall to hold the ceremony and to do rehearsals. Even if they only wanted to use the hall for just 15 minutes, they had to tell the office one month in advance. They were thinking to tell them one week before, so they had some struggles and regrets about this.

One example of this creativity is the t-shirt worn by the members of the JEMUN Conference Planning Team.

On the t-shirt, there is a picture of melting ice cream in the shape of the earth. Mr. Shunya Fujinaga, who is on the t-shirt design team, came up with the idea. He said that he wanted a design related to JEMUN’s conference theme of climate change and disasters. The ice cream is the earth and the melting symbolizes global warming. Also, pictures of a tornado, a forest fire and a thunder bolt are printed to represent disasters and the impacts of a global warming.

He also said, “I felt pressured before making the T-shirts because other members and teachers expectations, but as a result, everyone was satisfied with my design. So, I was delighted.”
