JEMUN Secretary General Miyu Kita made an announcement about JEMUN goods. Students are learning about business by selling JEMUN original goods like buttons, magnets, and fans that you can write messages on.

Ms. Kita also mentioned the conference photo spots and props, so participants can take photos with them and post the photos on SNS with the JEMUN hashtag.

Then, Dr. Philip Vaughter made a presentation about sustainable development and climate change. He is from Minnesota, in the United States, and received his undergraduate degree in biology from Iowa State University. He currently works for the United Nations University in the Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS).

In his presentation, he said, “In the United Nations' system of human development is just measured by three things. Those three things are life expectancy (which connects to health,) education, and per capita income which is related to poverty. The United Nations divides countries into four groups- very high are nations like Japan and Canada, high are nations like Brazil and China, and others in medium, and low.”

More details of Dr. Vaughter's presentation can be found on pages 10-11 of this magazine.
