The Senior Secretariat team would not be possible without the help of Yuki Shimosaka, Director of Conference Services who provides all merchandise, stickers, t-shirts and fans.
Yuki is a fourth year Kindai student currently studying International Culture and Linguistics.
This is his second time at the JEMUN conference, where he was previously a video journalist.
“It was interesting to go around, film and edit videos within a deadline,” Yuki said.
“I think the hardest part of being a video journalist was trying to edit before the deadline was up.”
This is the first time Yuki has been in an executive role, Director of Conference Services and he believes without the team, it would be challenging.
“It was hard work but without the team, including the Secretary General, Director General and Chief of Staff, they encouraged me to be more professional for the conference,” Yuki said.
Miu Kita is 21-years-old and she is enrolled in International Studies at Kindai University, She has a broad knowledge of English, economics and business. As Secretary General, her role is to take care of the team, making sure that all members are doing their job and being responsible.
“I have a great team and I am overwhelmed by how great my team is,” Miu said.
“Until today, we have not encountered any problems, everything has gone smoothly.”
Miu and her team started organizing JEMUN last year October, and believes it has paid off.

“Guests and invited speakers were very satisfied with what we had to offer and that makes me really happy,” Miu said.
Last year she was a planner, and this year her role is much bigger. She has identified her strengths and weaknesses while giving her the opportunity to become a more capable person.
“As a planner and now Secretary General, I notice that here are many parts that can be improved for the JEMUN conference. But most importantly is that I also want the team and participants to enjoy the conference and perhaps to become more engage with each other,” Miu said.
“Because of my experience in the JEMUN conference, I am now able to perform my best skills to my work,” Miu said.
This year’s JEMUN has been a success, and Mui trusts everything that happens in JEMUN is due to the hard effort the Senior Secretariat.
The executive team have had the opportunity to gain new knowledge and professional skills over the past 10 months and it will assist them for their future.
