The Weinstein JCC School of Dance offers an exciting learning environment for students of all skill levels . Our program gives dancers the opportunity to learn and perform various types of professional dance in a small group setting with the option of a dance recital each spring .
Mommy & Me Dance
Instructor : Mandy Helmlinger , Richmond Urban Dance Ages : 2 – 3 • 6-week session Dance Studio
Class will consist of music and movement designed to introduce children to dance in a social setting . We will work on large movement skills , following directions , using our imagination and so much more . Child must be accompanied by a parent or relative 16 years of age or older .
Attire : Tennis shoes and comfortable clothing . Thursdays , 10:00 AM - 10:40 AM

Intro to Ballet
Instructor : Haley-Jo Poh , 804 Dance Place Ages : 3 – 5 • Dance Studio
Intro to Ballet I classes combine stories and music in a child-friendly setting to help students develop body / spatial awareness , rhythm , flexibility , balance , coordination , memorization skills , and confidence . Students will be introduced to beginning ballet technique and learn basic ballet terminology .
For female students , a leotard , tights , and pink ballet slippers are required , and hair should be neatly pulled back out of the face in a ponytail or bun . For male students , a white t-shirt , black shorts or pants , and black ballet shoes with white ankle socks are required for this year-round class . The Dance Recital will be held April 21 , 2024 . $ 60 Recital fee not included and will be charged in late January .

Beginner Hip-Hop

This class is designed for children to express creative movement and learn the basics of hip hop dance . Children will focus on basic technique and skills , as well as learning choreography . Each class is a fun way to listen and move to the beats of hip hop and classic children ’ s music . It focuses on basic technique and skills , as well as learning choreography . Each class builds on the one prior . This class is for boys and girls . Israeli Folk Dance — Advanced

For those who love to dance and have some knowledge of Israeli Folk Dance , this class provides the opportunity to “ just dance ” and learn new dances as well , in a warm and inviting atmosphere .
