Adult Fitness and Wellness

Aimed at providing an improved health and wellness experience for all members , our Fitness Center is filled with a unique variety of people and purposes . With our state-of-the-art fitness and strength equipment , friendly personal trainers and an extensive array of group exercise and mind / body classes , our Fitness Center helps to motivate , inspire and keep members of all ages and fitness levels feeling their best .
NEW ! Krav Maga
Instructor : Winning Warrior Krav Maga Ages : 12 + • 8 weeks in the Banks Gym Min . 10 / Max 20 per class
Krav Maga is a self-defense system developed for the Israel Defense Forces ( IDF ) to maximize your impact and minimize your risk in a self-defense situation . It combines practical techniques from various Martial Arts to defend on your feet or on the ground . In this 8-week class , students will experience firsthand their own power , strength , and resilience in a safe and disciplined atmosphere .

For nearly 25 years , Mark Winn has taught his students diligence , decisiveness and self-awareness , spelling the difference between going home safely and becoming a victim . Mark holds the following certifications and honors , making him a great fit to teach the IDF ’ s self-defense system : Member and certified Instructor with the Federation of Israeli Martial Arts , Instructor level and above in Krav Maga , traditional Karate and Kung Fu , Instructor level through Training for Warriors , and certified through sports and nutrition associations such as NASM , ISSA , and FMS .
Tai Chi

This series of classes will offer guidance through functional movements which benefit our physical , emotional , and spiritual well-being and train our overall balance and inner awareness . No experience necessary . Based on the 24-movement short form of Yang style Taiji ( Tai Chi ) as well as Qigong ( Chi-gong ) sequences for breath work and longevity . Dress

Wolff has trained in several Tai Chi forms and has successfully competed in National Tournaments with Open Hand forms and the partner practice of Push Hands . She subscribes to the practice of Tai Chi as an essential way to calm the mind and connect the body and has been teaching in Richmond for nearly 20 years .

Meditation for Continuing Students

In this class , we will continue to deepen our practice . We will work with our breath through Pranayama , a vital link in calming the mind , and experience deep states of relaxation through various techniques .
Intro to Meditation is a prerequisite for taking this class unless prior approval by instructor . A meditation cushion or folded blanket is recommended .

low-impact but high results 45-minute full body workout focuses on strength training and isometric movements . This class strengthens and fine tunes your main muscle groups and muscles you may not even know you have ! Slower paced moves with lighter weights to contract your muscles in a different way . Join this specialized class where you will get individual attention from Katei and learn the best way to move your specific body . Each move can be modified or amplified depending on your specific needs .
Katie Brown is a Certified Health Coach and Fitness Instructor with years of experience teaching and coaching individual growth in a group fitness environment .
