Xàbia Environmental Services has
allocated workers to strengthen
the teams tackling the the forest
area near to the port of Javea.
Working on the lower slopes of
Cap de Sant Antoni, they are
removing invasive plants such
as agaves, geodetic or vines
of the species “cat’s claw”,
clearing the native shrubland and
removing solid waste dumped
there by inconsiderate litterers.
The land, which is municipally
owned and is included in the Natural
Park Montgó, served as a quarry
when the port of Javea was built.
The
cleaning
work
will
continue in coming days and
be extended to the area next to
the Barranquet of Sant Antoni.
