AROUND MARCH 11 MESSAGE 世界中にありがとう東日本大震災後の復興に向けた世界からの貢献 in hosting various events in Fukushima Prefecture. One such event is the Pacific Dance Festival of Iwaki City, which gathers dancers performers from various island countries of the Pacific. The FSM avidly supported the program from the initial stage and took part by sending dancers and Embassy representatives to the opening ceremonies of the event. This year, Speaker Wesley Simina headed a Goodwill Mission to Japan to take part in the 5th Anniversary of the Memorial Service of the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11th, 2011. The Goodwill Mission arrived in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture and made its way down to Tokyo. Along the way, the Goodwill Mission met with various representatives of the regional governments, including Governor Uchibori of Fukushima Prefecture and Vice-Governor Miura of Miyagi Prefecture among others. The Goodwill Mission also visited various sites affected by the Tsunami, including the Millennium Hope Hills of Iwanuma City. Vice Speaker Berney Martin and Senator Esmond Moses accompanied the Speaker on the Goodwill Mission to partake in the ceremony. ミクロネシア連邦は2011年3月26日に特別国会を召集し、日本の被災者に哀悼の意を表するとともに、10万ドルの震災見舞金を送る国会決議を採択した。これは小さな連邦国であるミクロネシアが海外への支援金として拠出した史上最高額であった。連邦国議会からの見舞金に加え、多くのNGOや NPOから集められた義援金が赤十字社を通して寄付された。ミクロネシアの学生は「洗車1ドルで日本に寄付を」と書いた看板を掲げて寄付金を集める活動を行った。また、ミクロネシア日本友好協会によるチャリティー・ディナーも開催された。さらに、ミクロネシア連邦は在日ミクロネシア連邦大使館を通して、福島県内でさまざまな震災復興イベントを支援した。一例として、太平洋諸島各国のダンサーが舞踊を披露する、いわき市の「太平洋諸国舞踏祭」がある。ミクロネシア連邦は震災直後から積極的にこの舞踏祭を支援しており、オープニング式典にダンサーと大使館職員を派遣した。今年、2011年3月11日の大震災を追悼する「東日本大震災5周年追悼式典」に出席するために、ウェズ JAPAN AND THE WORLD MAGAZINE WORLD! リー・シミナ・ミクロネシア連邦議会議長が率いる親善使節団が来日した。親善使節団は宮城県仙台市イタリアの学校がヴァイオリンコンサーを訪問後、東京へ向かう途中、福島県の内堀知事、 2014年3月、トを開催し、仙台ジュニアオーケストラにヴァイオリ宮城県の三浦副知事ら多くの関係者を表敬訪問し、ンを寄付した。岩沼市の「千年希望の丘」など津波被害を受けた被災地にも足を運んだ。バーニー・マーティン連邦議会副議長やエスモンド・モーゼス議員も追悼式典に参 FRANCE 列する使節団の一員として訪日した。フランス CANADA カナダ The Canada-Tohoku Friendship Pavilion, Maple Hall, was built at the Yuriage Port with the support of the Canadian Federal Government. カナダ連邦政府の後援のもと、宮城県名取市の閖上（ゆりあげ）港に、カナダ－東北友好記念館「メイプル館」が建設された。 CHINA 中国 A fifteen-member rescue team was sent to assist in rescue operations. The team brought 4 tons of rescue equipment that included power supplies, 20,000 tons of fuel, and telecommunications. The Chinese government also donated 4.59 million USD worth of relief supplies that included tents and quilts. 救助隊員15名が被災地の救助救援活動のために派遣された。チームとともに、発電機、燃料20,000トン、通信機器などの生存者の捜索に必要な支援物資 4トンも輸送された。また、中国政府からはテントや布団など459万ドル相当の救援物資も寄贈された。 In the 70s, when France was facing shortage of oysters, Tohoku offered them oysters to support the industry. In return, France took a great role in the revival activities of oyster farmers in the Sanriku area after the disaster. 1970年代にフランスで牡蠣の生産高が激減した際、フランスのカキの生産者を支援するため東北のカキが提供された。その恩返しとして、フランスは三陸のカキ養殖産業の復興に大いに貢献した。 GERMANY ドイツ Fankfurt donated around 25 million yen to the affected areas to reconstruct Madoka, a welfare center for disabled people. フランクフルト市は被災地に約2500万円を贈った。この寄付金は、仙台市の障害福祉サービス事務所「まどか荒浜」の再建に当てられた。 DJIBOUTI ジブチ Right after the Tsunami hit Japan on March 11, 2011, the citizens of the Republic of Djibouti expressed their sympathy and solidarity to the People of Japan by donating relief money to the city of Minamisoma. ITALY イタリア In March 2014, an Italian school held a violin concert and donated violins to the Sendai Junior Orchestra. 2011年3月11日、東日本を襲った地震による津波の直後、ジブチ共和国民は南相馬市に義援金を贈り、お見舞いと連帯の意を表した。 APRIL 2016 // 16
