New owner shares vision for Village Center

Phil Fogg discusses the future of retail in the commercial space

Hello Charbonneau . I recently had the privilege of interviewing Phil Fogg , the new owner of the retail building within the Charbonneau Village Center , with the intent of writing a Villager article about the change in ownership of the Charbonneau Village Center building . Constructed in 1980 , the Charbonneau Village Center features 9,828 square feet of retail space , abundant parking and a strong tenant mix . My initial focus was to update our community regarding the new owner ’ s future vision for this important part of our community . I quickly realized that there is more to the story than just a business deal about leasing spaces for financial gain . Phil ’ s vision and purpose for the Village Center is much broader than that .

A visionary and a leader : Phil Fogg is the fourth generation of his family in the long-term-care and health care services business . He is a leader in the industry and has championed many improvements to quality of service for seniors as well as support for the employees in this important industry . Phil has a vision and business plan for providing therapy and physicians ’ services focused on seniors . His initial interest in the Charbonneau Village Center was its proximity to SpringRidge at Charbonneau , our community ’ s senior living option offering assisted living , memory care and a independent living facilities in a serene , wooded setting . Charbonneau ’ s above-average resident ages is another attractive characteristic . Initially , his interest was to explore a new facility within the Charbonneau Village Center where seniors could get treatments and tests prescribed by their physicians . The vision and plan changed when Phil found he had a full complement of businesses wanting to lease in this location , including a new restaurant . The therapy

A connection to Charbonneau : Phil has extended family living in Charbonneau and his own home is close by . He regularly plays golf here in Charbonneau and has been aware of the major improvements to the course as well as the Activity Center , Clubhouse , Pavilion and , most recently , the new Sports Center building . He wants the Village Center complex to be complementary to the designs and appearance of the rest of these updated facilities . You may have seen the construction projects already in progress – updated outdoor lighting and signage , stone footings to the front canopy columns , window and door updates and refreshed landscaping . My perception is that , while Phil is a consummate businessperson with a vision and a plan , he is also an owner who is very much dedicated to being a part of the community of Charbonneau . He expressed a long-term view and curiosity about topics affecting the community of Charbonneau . I look forward to his business leadership in our community in the future .

Bonjour ! Lumiére : The most frequent question I hear about the Village Center is : “ What kind of food will be served at the new restaurant ?” The new restaurant , Lumiére , will offer a contemporary take on a classic French dining experience . It may be open in March and I hope to see many of you joining me to sample their menu . Our only Italian restaurant closed in Wilsonville not long ago , so I ’ m looking forward to food styled on one of the other Mediterranean countries . The Lumiére restaurant joins co-tenants Luxe Sucre Bakery & Cafe , Cascade Hasson Sotheby ’ s Realty , Charbonneau Salon & Spa , Touch of Jade Massage , Gather + Give , and Soul Stretch Yoga .
