We will receive decorating advice at upcoming luncheon
Another holiday season is behind us and I am writing “ 2025 ” for the first time . I hope that your holidays went well and I wish you all health and happiness in the year ahead . Before I bid the season a final goodbye though , I want to thank April Marcell and Judi Hickman , who chaired our Holiday Brunch on Dec .

9 . The Clubhouse Dining Room was transformed into a gingerbread wonderland that day . We had a full house of members and it was so nice to see everyone sparkling in their holiday finery . We enjoyed the generous buffet catered by Norton ’ s and then settled down to listen to holiday favorite musical selections by The Dickens Carolers .

January is a time of “ out with the old and in with the new .” Many of us are cleaning out and decluttering or at least thinking about it . With that in mind , the CWA program at the Jan . 13 luncheon will be titled Lighten Up and Let it Go and we will be getting advice from Deborah Ulrich of The Move Makers . For a little fun we will be holding a mini drop and swap . Luncheon attendees are invited to bring a small item that they no longer want . These will be arranged on tables and , after the meal , everyone will have an opportunity to select something from the items on display . This is a swap ; we are not selling the items . It is intended to be an interesting way to get us all thinking about painless ways of cleaning up and clearing out . The most important guideline is that the items must be small such as scarves , jewelry , games or small decorative pieces . You may bring something and not take anything in return or vice versa . Of course , you may attend the luncheon without participating in this at all . Afterwards any leftover items will be donated to local resale shops . The menu that day will be a light Italian buffet and the cost is $ 30 for members and $ 35 for non-members . As a reminder , you may

attend one CWA event as a non-member . After that you must pay $ 30 / year in dues , but we will deduct the extra $ 5 that you paid if you have attended a luncheon as a guest . Luncheons and programs will continue monthly through May when we will have a fashion show . The sign-up book is in the Activity Center Closet and reservations for Jan . 13 can be made until noon on Thursday , Jan . 9 . There are membership forms in the book and checks for the luncheon and for dues may be turned in at the desk or placed in the slot by the Activity Center doors .

Borrowers must maintain the property and most current payments of property taxes , homeowner ’ s insurance , and HOA dues . Guild will add the applicable reverse mortgage origination fee , mortgage insurance premium , closing costs , or servicing fees to the balance of the loan which will grow , along with the interest , over time . Interest isn ' t tax deductible until all or part of the loan is repaid . Failing to pay property taxes , insurance , and maintenance might subject the property to a tax lien , foreclosure , or other encumbrance since the borrower retains the title .
