PRACTICAL RESEARCH EXERCISE

It was a great experience for me as well
as challenging too. Since I took my own area as
a research site so it actually helped to study my
own area in a better manner and also helped to
understand the everyday struggle of married
women about which I have not studied with
much detail before this research. Earlier, I was
little hesitated because I was not sure if they
would be comfortable in talking to me even if I
know them. But I think during the interview,
there was very much equal relationship between
me as a researcher and my respondents. This
may be because it was an ethnographic study
where respondents have some kind of
familiarity with me (as a researcher). This may
be the reason that this study worked in a smooth
manner. It actually helped me to learn more.

I think the topic disability has a lot of
scope to do research in this field which actually
demand. Through this research, I had also
observed that many people who have some kind
of disability like hearing problem, multiple
disability and so on. The family rarely have any
kind of awareness about this issue. So in that
case, the person, who has disability, does not
able to get the proper treatment or the school for
that particular kind of disability and there are
many cases here when such people just live
their lives to be dependent on others. I just hope
that if I could create atleast a link among such
families for the future purposes. I think it would
be a great achievement for me. However, there
has been limitations from my side also that I
myself do not know much about this area that is
why, I have limited myself to children of a
particular age group from 1 to 10.
